Improve Sleep – and endocrine function – with These Essential Oils

Improve Sleep - and endocrine function - with These Essential Oils

I’m one of those fancy schmancy people who loves the symphony. All of the instruments playing together making beautiful music. Can you imagine if there was a rogue cellist who started playing We Will Rock You in the middle of a Mozart concerto?

Other members of the orchestra would eventually fall out of time and the piece would fall apart.

What on Earth does this have to do with sleeping? Let me tell you…

The Delicate Endocrine System

The endocrine system is like an orchestra. The instruments are delicate (thyroid, adrenals, ovaries/testes, pineal gland, hypothalamus, etc.), and they work together to play in concert.

If you adrenal glands are underperforming, they draw on the thyroid gland. If your hypothalamus is off, the messages (hormones) don’t get relayed between the other glands and systems.

Endocrine imbalances can result in everything from belly fat to PMS and insomnia.

Resetting the endocrine system is a big job. I start the healing process with diet, digestion, blood sugar handling, and SLEEP for most clients.

A Possible Breakthrough in (Some) Speech Issues, Autism Symptoms, and Brain Fog

I love, love, love my job. Thanks to my training and your important input, we can learn and grow to help people struggling with health issues who would otherwise struggle to find answers. Like me.

This conversation on my Facebook page has been so helpful with a recent issue that was stressing. me. out. Because I’m so inspired – and RELIEVED -, I wanted to share the conversation.

It’s a little messy, but, if I don’t spit it out as is, I’ll never find the time to share it. If you have any thoughts or ideas of your own, please share them in the comments at the bottom of the post!

I’ll be researching this carefully and will address it in a future blog post if it works like I hope it will.

20 something allergies
18 hrs ·

Can I pick your brains? My daughter is having a very rough time right now getting her words out.

I thought it was an allergic reaction to us not rotating our foods enough recently, but she has no other symptoms and I’m getting very frustrated that I can’t relieve it.

Do you have any remedies or insight into how to relieve or reverse it?

Holistic Practice of Forest Bathing Has Surprising Benefits

We All Need a Little Forest Bathing

Note from Jennifer: I’m excited to introduce you to our newest contributor at 20 something allergies. Paisley Hansen is a freelance writer who will stop by once a month to share some great new therapy ideas like this one…

While you may not have heard of the term shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing, the Forest Agency of Japan has prescribed ‘activities in the woods’ as a way to increase wellness and alleviate stress among their people.

If you’re like most people, a walk in the woods leaves you feeling peaceful, calm, and refreshed.

Researchers have also scientifically measured benefits from shinrin-yoku, making it one of the most perfect and inexpensive natural remedies in the world.

Most people intuitively perceive the benefits that come from spending time surrounded by nature.

Introduced in 1982, Dr. Qing Li, the foremost researcher in this field, quantified people’s perceptions in scientific studies that have been replicated and verified by other researchers all over the world.

The most obvious health benefit from forest bathing is a decrease in the production of cortisol, the stress hormone, when enveloped in the tranquility of rustling leaves, birdsong, babbling brooks, and fresh air.

Most exciting is Dr. Li’s recent discovery that inhaling the chemicals phytoncide, a-pinene, and limonene released by evergreens, stimulate the activity of Natural Killer (NK) cells produced by the immune system to destroy cancer cells.

How To Get More Sleep Tonight

How to Get More Sleep Tonight |

Note from Jennifer: Today’s post comes from freelance writer, Jessica Socheski.

Sleep is the #1 catalyst to me having a good day or a bad one. My body is just learning to function again, and lack of sleep can send me into a tailspin of fatigue that will take me out for at least one entire day.

I also monitor the sleep of my clients closely. Deep healing cannot occur without functional sleep.

More than 30% of adults have trouble sleeping and receive less sleep than the recommended 7 to 9 hours per night.

Although nearly one third of the population suffers from sleep ailments, most choose to ignore the problem and just endure it. But after suffering through drowsy days and frustrating nights, a lack of sleep leads to difficulty focusing which can have hazardous results.

Even worse, those experiencing an insufficiency of sleep are prone to bodily diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, depression, and obesity.
