Who has two thumbs and is contemplating another round of GAPS intro?

The flu is making it’s second big cold weather round in the Detroit metro area. That means the bad bugs are flourishing and we are not. I was hit with the flu about three weeks ago and have only had a couple of days where I’ve felt completely well since. Plus, the lymph nodes under my jaw are still mildly swollen.

On a positive note, the Adrenal Complex that I’ve been taking is making an extremely marked difference in my energy levels. I don’t feel like I have mono anymore (even mild illnesses wipe me out for weeks in the energy department and it feels like I get mono every time I’m sick).

Katie’s GI situation has deteriorated rapidly where bellyaches now accompany every food that goes into her mouth (this has been going on for a couple of days and sends me into GAPS intro every time), and she’s tired almost all of the time.

The hubs has been off and on headachy, nauseous, and experiencing joint pain. So…it looks like we will be easing into stage 1 of the GAPS intro over the next week.

The long term plan is to follow a GAPS-focused primal lifestyle from here on out.

What’s the GAPS intro you ask? For those not familiar with the protocol, the short version is that we eat a lot of meats and vegetables slow cooked in bone broth to help heal our guts and therefore our immune systems.

In stage one, all of our meals will be cooked this way.
