Customized Real Food Meal Plans

Well, well, well. I fell off the wagon yesterday and had Wendy’s (yes, absolutely disgusting) and a chai latte plus blueberry scone from Starbucks. I actually managed to wrench back control and turned down the Wendy’s spicy chicken sandwich and fries but hubby didn’t hear me before he left. I had some raw (unsoaked) almonds and raisins while he was grabbing poison lunch, and felt pretty good, but, lo and behold, the food was here and I’m not at a point where I can turn it down after not eating all morning. It didn’t even taste good, so I ended up throwing out almost all of the fries. Not even counting that one a victory. The chai later was fantastic though, so I’m happy I can make a GAPS friendly one. Since we’re going to fully do intro soon, I’ll wait until we’re officially on full GAPS instead of the limbo we’re in now. Then, although the scone was slightly tasty, it sat like a boulder in my gut and I had to skip dinner. Luckily I did learn from this setback, and we all have to make mistakes sometimes. It helps retrain my brain with regards to food. Going into the diet – like so may others -, I didn’t think I would have all of these issues. I did it for Katie and figured I had overcome many of mine. :buzzer sounds: Um, no.

Katie has not been feeling well belly wise off and on every day. I have no idea what caused her reaction yesterday, but I’m thinking it was eating at my in-laws. My mother-in-law is so super careful but it’s either problems where she slips up sometimes while cooking, or Katie is reacting to the dog food. Dogs are often notoriously messy while eating and the pooch transfers it onto her fur while cleaning herself. Since there isn’t a reaction every time, I can’t be sure. I can be sure that Katie was rashy, hurting, and got hiccups (a classic sign for her) so had a small dose of Colic Calm before bed. All was good in the hood today after a nuclear meltdown about daddy leaving for work. 🙁 I hate those.

Result of the above issues? The ginger tea is boiling and there are two roasting chickens on to boil for soup. It’s time for intro…at least for one day to recoup. If it works out, we’ll stay on it. if not, I’ll start in the next couple of weeks and be fully prepared. Though I do not plan this to be our full dive back into intro yet, I think we both need at least one strict day of it tomorrow. :sigh: I can already hear the whining for fruit and artichokes now. Time to buck up. On a side note, I’ve been reading this blog and this one by two wonderful ladies willing to share their journey and have been bolstering my confidence with each post I read. Full intro is creeping closer every day. Thank goodness. Katie is gassy again, and it makes me feel like a bad mom.
